Dubai: Dubai Islamic Insurance and Reinsurance Company (Aman), the largest Islamic insurance provider in the UAE, has come forward to sponsor the ‘Silver Prize’ of the 16th session of the annual Dubai International Holy Quran Award.

Established in 1997 by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the award is conferred by the government of Dubai to encourage young Muslims to memorise the Holy Quran and spread Quranic values of peace and love.

“Over the last 16 years, Aman Insurance has been a leading supporter of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award, which not only seeks to reward outstanding individuals who have learned to memorise the Quran but also aims to spread the Islamic values of peace and harmony across the world,” Hussain Mohammad Al Meeza, CEO and managing director of Aman Insurance, said.

Besides the Holy Quran Award, an Islamic Personality of the Year Award will also be presented to an eminent Muslim personality or an outstanding Islamic organisation.

The Dubai International Holy Quran Award events commence on the first day of the Holy Month of Ramadan. The awards ceremony usually takes place on the 20th day of Ramadan in an event held under Shaikh Mohammad’s patronage.
