Iran had trade transactions with 160 countries in the last Iranian year (ended March 20, 2013), said the vice president for marketing in Trade Promotion Organization of Iran.

Reza Tofiqi added that non-oil exports last year earned $95 billion, IRNA reported.

He listed Iran's main trade partners as UAE, China, Iraq, Turkey, South Korea, India, Afghanistan and Russia.

One of Iran's main non-oil trade partners is UAE, with which trade reached $13.7 billion, of which $10.2 billion pertained to Iran's imports and $3.5 billion to Iran's exports.

"Iran-China trade amounted to $13.65 billion last year," he said.

"Of the said figure, $5.5 billion belonged to Iran's exports and $8.15 billion to Iran's imports."

The official said iron ore was Iran's major exported item.

Tofiqi added Iran-Iraq trade exceeded $6.3 billion in the past year.

"Iran exported $6.267 billion worth of goods to Iraq and imported $83 million worth of goods from the country," he said.

He said cement was Iran's main export item to Iraq.

"Iran exported $560 million worth of cement to Iraq last year and will resume cement export to the country in the current year."

Tofiqi noted that last year, Turkey was Iran's fourth trade partner by importing $1.5 billion worth of commodities and exporting $3.75 billion worth of goods.

Tofiqi named South Korea with $5.7 billion worth of trade transactions as Iran's fifth partner.

He noted that South Korea imported $916 million worth of goods, and exported $4.784 billion worth of goods to Iran.

Iran-India trade reached $4.8 billion of which $2.6 billion pertained to Iran's exports and $2.05 billion belonged to India's exports, he said.

He said Afghanistan with $2.8 billion was Iran's 7th partner. "Of the figure, $2.5 billion were related to Iran's exports and $300 million to Iran's imports."

The official listed sesame seed, caterpillar's cocoon, seeds and marble as Afghanistan's export items.

Tofighi said Russia was Iran's 8th partner in the last year, which imported $500 billion worth of goods from Iran and exported $630 billion worth of commodities to the country.
