Iran's cement output registered a remarkable increase after the launch of several production plants in recent years.
Hamid Safdel, the head of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI), also told Fars News Agency that Iran produced over 80 million tons of cement in the last Iranian year (ended March 20, 2013).
Safdel said Iran is self-sufficient in meeting the domestic requirements for cement.
"Iran is currently the fourth biggest cement producer in the world," he said.
Last month, Deputy Minister of Industries, Mines and Trade Vajihollah Ja'fari announced that Iran's cement exports witnessed eye-catching growth in the last Iranian year.
