DUBAI, May 16th, 2013 (WAM) -- The Higher Committee for Hosting the "World Expo 2020" held a meeting, presided over by H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Group, where the final preparations for the 153rd International Exhibitions Bureau (BIE) General Assembly meeting in June in Paris were discussed.
The participation in the event's agenda is deemed to be the penultimate opportunity for the candidate countries to highlight their qualifications to host the international exhibition before the final vote to choose the host country for the Expo takes place in November. Among those who attended the meeting were Mohammed Al Shaibani, the Director General of H.H. Dubai Ruler's Court and Deputy Chairman of the Committee, Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State and Managing Director of the UAE's Higher Committee for Hosting the 2020 World Expo in Dubai, and members of the committee. The Committee refers its periodic reports directly to UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.Copyright Emirates News Agency (WAM) 2013.
