AMMAN -- The Ministry of Health has established a healthcare unit for correctional and rehabilitation centres in the Kingdom to improve health services provided to inmates, Minister of Health Abdul Latif Wreikat said on Tuesday.

A ministry statement quoted him as saying at a meeting with officers from the Public Security Department that the unit seeks to create a national database on correctional and rehabilitation centres in the Kingdom in cooperation with their administration.

The unit will also follow up on the centres' needs of medical personnel and equipment.
