AMMAN -- The Cabinet's decision to take protective measures regarding the imports of steel went into effect starting Sunday. Ministry of Industry and Trade Spokesperson Yanal Barmawi said an additional qualitative tax was added for the next two years and a half to the current custom duties, with JD80 to be imposed on each tonne of imported steel during the first year, JD70 in the second year and JD60 in the third year.
