JERUSALEM, Jul 20, 2012 (AFP) - Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip fired two rockets into southern Israel on Friday where they hit without causing casualties or damage, a military spokeswoman said.

"Two rockets hit the Eshkol region in southern Israel, at two in the morning and three in the afternoon. Neither caused casualties or damage," she told AFP.

The border between Gaza and Israel remains tense with occasional flare-ups, including in June when Palestinians fired dozens of rockets into the Jewish state which responded with multiple air raids that killed 15 Palestinians.
