TUNIS - Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali enquired, on Tuesday in Tunis, about an Egyptian offer by Amer Group to carry out a tourist project in Taparura, on the northern coasts of Sfax city, at investments of 3 billion U.S. dollars.
Amer Group President Mansour Amer said, after the talk with the Prime Minister Jebali, that "negotiations will continue with the Tunisian side on this project," which includes the achievement of a project called "Porto Sfax" to house hotel units, golf courses, luxurious residences, a marina, a world medical centre and an international school.
It is worth reminding that more than 150 million Tunisian dinars were appropriated to the Taparura project for the sanitation works of some six kilometers along the Sfax northern coasts, heavily polluted by industrial wastes. The Taparura project is presently under a marketing operation in search for investors to achieve tourist, urban and development projects.
Amer Group is a large investor in the real estate and tourism fields, as well as in a set resort centres, in Egypt (Sharm el-Sheikh, El Ghardaqa and Alexandria) and in the Arab world.
