Dubai:The third annual Health and Wellness Festival, which will run until May 7, will provide the public with free access to many health screenings and information that will help steer them towards a healthy lifestyle.
The festival is held at the Dubai Outlet Mall in association with UAE Ministry of Health (MOH).
Everyday from 2-10pm, the public can benefit from the quality services and free health checkups, interactive group activities, demonstrations and informative sessions provided by certified medical professionals and experts in the fields.
Mohammad Al Rahmani from Dubai Medical District, Ministry Of Health, said that, “The objective is to create maximum awareness amongst people at large regarding preventive measures to be taken for a healthy lifestyle. MOH has partnered with Dubai Outlet Mall to support this initiative to provide all services and awareness regarding all health related issues.”
The tests and activities include hypertension screening, blood sugar checkup, body composition analysis and personalised weight loss consultation, breast cancer awareness, diabetes screening, hepatitis check up, paediatry screening, bone check up, spinal and posture check up, physiotherapy, eye check up, dental check up and fitness tips wellness.
Al Rahmani added, that having regular checkups helps strengthen the awareness of medical issue and encourages the public to act on signs and symptoms promptly to avoid health problem.
Vishal Mahajan, director of Dubai Outlet Mall said that “the feedback from the community was great even from the first hours of the event. All the stalls were packed with people wanting to get their checkups and consultations done as people are excited about the variety of services and tests offered by well-known clinics and hospitals as well as MOH.”
Maya S., said that she had a good experience when she was having her blood sugar, bone density, eye check up, skin analysis, body mass analysis and a spinal check up done.
“Usually when I go to a clinic I am stressed out because I am scared of doctors but having the test in a shopping mall is fun and not stressful. I tried.”
