DUBAI (Zawya Dow Jones)--The Dubai Financial Services Authority, which regulates companies and markets in the emirate's international financial centre, has appointed Ian Johnston as its next chief executive, replacing Paul Koster.
Johnston will succeed Koster with effect from June 15, the DFSA said in an emailed statement Wednesday.
Johnston has been the DFSA's deputy chief executive since 2009 and managing director since 2006, when he joined the regulator. Koster meanwhile is leaving after almost four years in the position.
