Paris - Director General of the Commercial Bank of Syria (CBS) Dr. Duraid Durgham stressed that investment opportunities are available in Syria on a wide scale whether for the companies or banks.

In a lecture delivered in Paris on Monday, Durgham reviewed the latest economic developments witnessed by Syria, and the remarkable steps achieved by the CBS.

Durgham said the CBS could become an important commercial partner because it has a capital estimated at USD 2, 2 billions, indicating that the bank works on attracting the international financial bodies and banks to make more investments in Syria.

He pointed out that Syria has special relations with several French banks, hoping that the number of these banks will increase to open more prospects of cooperation between the two countries in the next stage.

The lecture was organized by the Syrian Embassy in France in cooperation with the French Bank of BRED in the framework of beefing up the Syrian-French relations, serving the best interests of the two sides.

The lecture was attended by a number of the representatives of the international and French banks and funding bodies as well as the Syrian Ambassador to France Lamia Shakkour.
