The Bahrain Radio and Television Corporation (BRTC) yesterday signed an agreement with OMD company, the official representative of Arab Radio and TV (ART) which owns World Cup 2006 transmission rights.
Under the agreement, Bahrain Radio will air commentaries on the World Cup games, BRTC acting chief executive and Assistant Undersecretary of Foreign Media at the Ministry of Information, Shaikh Khalifa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, told the Press yesterday.
He said the agreement allows the transmission of the commentaries in Arabic and English. The English versions can be heard on FM 101 and the Arabic versions on FM 102.3. Shaikh Khalifa said the BRTC would soon set up air-conditioned halls in all the governorates to enable people to watch the games.
