DOHA: The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has signed 13 contracts worth QR3bn to carry out major infrastructural projects across the country.

The projects include a three-lane highway linking Al Muntazah with the proposed F-Ring Road, with 11 intersections and six roundabouts and internal roads in and around the Barwa City in Mesaimeer.

A QR360.2m project includes reconstruction of the Najma road from the Najma intersection up to the E-Ring Road and stretching to the proposed F-Ring Road.

Another project worth QR491.3 m includes developing the Doha Expressway and internal roads with water net works, lighting, traffic lights, bridges, tunnels and landscaping. Water supply stations will be established in Al Sadd, Rayyan, Onaiza, Jisr and Abu Nakhla at a total cost of QR247.7m. The projects also include establishment of stations for pumping out rain water in Al Laqta and Old Rayyan.

Another project worth QR238.5m is for establishment of sewage network in Al Khor.

The projects also include establishment of four schools in Al Daain area and three schools in Al Wakra and development of streets in Daain Municipality and North-East of Doha.
