Amman - The Amman Chamber of Industry (ACI) took part in a forum on production integrity and increasing competitiveness of Arab commodities in Arab and international markets that was held recently in the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh.
Member of the ACI board Saad Yasin presented a working paper to the forum in which he highlighted the need to double efforts to achieve Arab economic integration and remove obstacles facing full implementation of the Greater Arab Free Trade Zone with the aim of establishing the Arab Customs Union by 2015.
He said Arab countries are the main market of Jordanian exports which amounted to JD2.6 billion until the end of last month according to AIC figures.
Yasin added that the forum discussed the importance of Arab economic integration, economic cooperation, obstacles facing economic integration and means of overcoming them to present them to the Arab Economic Summit, which will be held in Sharm el-Sheikh next year.
