ALFA Laval - a world leader in heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid handling - has won an order from a Korean engineering company to supply heat exchangers for a natural gas project in Saudi Arabia. The order value is approximately Swedish krona (SEK)80 million and delivery is scheduled for 2013.
The Alfa Laval heat exchangers will be used in a new major gas processing facility in Saudi Arabia where they will be recovering energy in the gas cleaning process, bringing down power consumption and CO2 emissions.
"Alfa Laval has a strong position in the oil and gas markets and has delivered reliable products and solutions for the demanding gas cleaning processes for many years. This order is also a direct result of our strong presence both in Korea and Saudi Arabia", said Lars Renstr?m, President and CEO of the Alfa Laval Group.
In 2010 Saudi Arabia had proven natural gas reserves estimated at 264 trillion cubic feet (Tcf), the fifth largest in the world after countries such as Russia and Qatar.
The company's solutions help companies to heat, cool, separate and transport products in industries that produce food and beverages, chemicals and petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, starch, sugar and ethanol.
