Amman - The decision of the council of ministers to impose a final protective measure on the Kingdom's imports of rebar will come into force as of Sunday, June 16, 2013.

In a press release issued on Saturday, Yanal Al Barmawi, media advisor to the minister of industry and trade, said an additional qualitative tax will be added, for the next two and a half years, to the current customs duties .

He noted that JD80 will be imposed on each ton of imported rebar during the first year, JD70 will be charged in the second year and JD60 in the third year.
