Global technology heavyweights join forces to enable FREE Uber rides for Mastercard cardholders

Riyadh, UAE – Uber, the world’s leading ride-sharing app and Mastercard, a leading technology company in the global payments industry, have announced an exclusive alliance that will provide Mastercard cardholders with free Uber rides. Cardholders in UAE, Egypt and Saudi Arabia will be able to enjoy a complimentary journey on Uber when they ride frequently and use their Mastercard card as a mode of payment on the app. In addition, new Uber users will enjoy a special discount of 50% on three rides, as part of the exclusive offer.

The Uber/Mastercard partnership will make moving around cities easier than ever before; people will have access to safe, reliable and affordable transportation at the tap of a button, whilst saving money to spend on the things they love.

To avail of the offer, riders simply have to add Mastercard as their payment method on the Uber app; they will then be able to track their rides via a personalized punch-card, allowing them to review their progress and the number of trips remaining between each complimentary ride.

Commenting on the partnership, Nader Museitif, Head of Business for Uber MENA, said: “As consumers demand more from their personal technology applications, it is increasingly important for organizations to work together to provide more innovative offerings. Mastercard and Uber share a similar vision around convenience and reliability and our partnership is a great example of how we can bring two industries together to offer even more benefits to consumers.”
