BAGHDAD: Free Iraqiya Bloc MP Alia Nsaif called for amending the law of communications and information and concentrating the communications infrastructures in faithful the government's hands.

She warned that concentrating this sector with all its components in the hands of the private sector will "endanger national security".

"It is unreasonable to hand over all correspondence and plans in the hands of unknown foreign company, which might be Israeli or anti-Iraq, thus it will endanger Iraqi security", she elaborated.

She pointed that the espionage will not be limited against the governmental organs but will cover the private citizen, thus the privacy of Iraq will be penetrated and could be sold to foreign circles.

"It is necessary that the communications infrastructure should be under the control of the state", she concluded.
