Dubai (UAE): As part of its ongoing efforts to improve the means of using public transport modes in the emirate of Dubai, the Public Transport Agency at the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) unveiled yesterday a strategic initiative known as 'Wojhati' i.e. Journey Planner.

The announcement was made in a press conference held by Public Transport Agency in its premises at the Muhaisina, in the presence of its CEO Essa Abdul Rahman Al Dossari, directors and managers and a horde of local media representatives.

"Through launching this strategic initiative, we are intending to offer a vital service to help commuters of all mass transit modes, such as public buses, marine transport and metro, plan their daily journeys in advance in an accurate & effective manner. This will render the daily trips a smooth exercise and enable commuters reach their correct destinations in a timely manner," said Al Dosari.

"This initiative will help users focus more on other works, run their daily routines smoothly, and plan their time in an effective manner. This will undoubtedly increase their productivity and enhance their performance, rendering their daily mobility through public transport modes a systematic & smooth exercise" added Al Dosari.

Commenting on the procedure of using 'Wojhati' service, the Director of Planning & Business Development at Public Transport Agency Mohammed Abu Baker Al Hashemi said: "This system is easy to use as users have only to take a series of simple steps to preplan their daily journeys in the emirate of Dubai through public transport modes. The user has to log on to the website of the initiative (wojhati.rta.ae), and enter the intended destination. The user will then get a list of journeys by various public transport modes including trip information such as names of places in transit, indicative points and other geographical information to help the user arrive at the required destination in an accurate, timely and effective manner."

Al Hashemi thoroughly explained the use of the 'Wojhati' service to the attendants of the press conference through live demonstration of the relevant portal.
