PARIS (Dow Jones)--Qatar Airways (QAN.AU) hired French defense and electronic systems company Thales SA (HO.FR) to provide an in-flight entertainment system for its fleet of Airbus A350 commercial aircraft, Thales said Wednesday.
Qatar Airways will use the Thales Avant system for its fleet of 80 A350 jets it ordered from Airbus, expected to be delivered starting in 2013, Thales said.
The French company didn't release financial details of the transaction.
Airbus is a unit of European Aeronautic Defence & Space Co.(EAD.FR)
