BEIRUT: Minister of State Adnan Kassar said on Tuesday that franchises play a great role in the improvement of Arab investment and commercial activities. “It opens the way to the establishment of additional Small and Medium Enterprises and creates new job opportunities,” he said. His remarks came during a press conference held at Adnan Kassar Arab economic center to launch Bifex, the Beirut international forum for franchises, organized by the union of Arab chambers of commerce and the Lebanese franchise association (LFA). LFA President Charles Arbid said that franchises constitute an added value for Lebanese productive enterprises. “Franchises play an important role in marketing and exporting products and services in addition to being a good way of cultural exchange between countries,” he said. Arbid said that the forum is a good opportunity to encourage young business initiatives. “it also aims at improving Lebanese franchises and helps in exporting Lebanese products and ideas regionally and internationally.” Kassar praised the quality of Lebanese products and said that Lebanon’s free economy contributes to the development of the private sector. – The Daily Star
