AMMAN, Dec 30 (KUNA) -- The all-share price index of the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) was significantly up, 17.8 points, last week, as daily average trade increased by 71.8 percent, Amman Stock Exchange Weekly Report showed on Friday.

According to Market statistics, the all-share price index for this week increased to 1,995.1 points, compared to 1,977.3 points in the previous week, with a posted gain of 0.9 percent.

The price index for financial sector increased by 1.11 percent, followed by another increase in the industrial sector, 1.86 percent, while the services sector dropped 0.07 percent.

The average daily volume of trading amounted to USD 18 million, compared to USD 10.5 million the week before, gaining 71.8 percent.

Volume of overall daily trading for this week reached approximately USD 54.

3 million, compared to USD 52.8 million in the week before.

The number of traded stocks this week amounted to 45.1 million, done in 12,283 deals.

As to the share of each sector in the volume of trading, the financial quarter came first, 74.9 percent, followed by services, 14.3 percent, and then industries, 10.8 percent.

Of the 184 companies whose shares saw trading this week, 82 registered profit, while 60 suffered losses.
