CAIRO (Zawya Dow Jones)--Revenue from Egypt's Suez Canal rose 4.8% to $447.9 million in October, compared with the year earlier month, according to data from the Suez Canal Authority.

Income rose 2.2% from the month earlier, when revenues stood at $438.3 million.

The authority said cargo traffic increased by 8.4% in October, compared with the same month last year. Southbound cargo registered an increase of 10.8%, while Northbound cargo rose by 6%.
