JEDDAH: Emaar the Economic City (EEC), the Tadawul-listed company developing King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) in Rabigh, north of Jeddah, has completed 50 km of roads inside KAEC, linking all parts of the city to each other and to the Jeddah-Yanbu and Jeddah-Rabigh highways.
Major parts of the infrastructure, including electricity and water networks, sanitation systems, and modern communications have also been completed.
"The building of the world-class road network is the foundation for all upcoming large projects. This smart infrastructure is nearing completion and with it will be our ability to provide all services to KAEC residents.
"The completion of 50 km of roads has created an efficient link to the Industrial Valley, the seaport, Bay La Sun Village and Hawadi," said Fahd Al-Rasheed, CEO and managing director of EEC.
EEC, now based in KAEC, handed over in 2009 a wide range of residential units at Bay La Sun, land plots in the Industrial Valley, offices at the business park as well as a wide variety of retail space throughout the city.
KAEC is coming to life as a large number of companies and organizations have already started carrying out their daily operations from there, as the first wave of residents are settling down in the city to become the core of KAEC's future communities.
