MUSCAT -- The Special Economic Zone Authority of Duqm (SEZAD) has signed a contract with US-based United World, an independent international media communications agency, to promote Duqm as attractive investment destination.

United World, which has an exclusive agreement with USA Today, is recognised as a leader in the production of special economic supplements targeting various countries, regions and sectors worldwide.

SEZAD along with Oman DryDock Company and Port of Duqm Company are streamlining their efforts to showcase Duqm to the different markets in a bid to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) as well as market it globally.

The contract will help support the Authority's strategy to position Duqm on the world map as a destination for industrial, dry-dock, maritime and other infrastructure projects.

As part of the deal, United World will put together a number of articles that provide promotional information on the Sultanate in general and Duqm in particular. This includes promoting Duqm in various publications, social networking sites, video links and other media sources that target the business audience all over the world.

United World delivers timely, credible information to a sophisticated American audience -- making the changing world more understandable, while highlighting many new business opportunities in both established and up-and-coming markets, the Authority said in a statement.

Since 1991 United World has been making a difference in global communications. Through an exclusive media agreement with America's number one newspaper, USA Today, it produces socio-economic reports, published under the title Our World, that constitute an additional section within the newspaper.

These reports empower countries to create their own international image, providing information and sending out messages that will attract investors to their part of the world.

The promotional plans include exclusive interviews, articles and reports that target the US business community. These reports provide Duqm with the ideal environment for presenting their current political, economic and cultural assets to an influential and affluent North American audience. United World reports and articles target more than 3.3 million readers a day therefore provides an effective way to showcase countries, regions and sectors to attain the maximum return for any investments.
