JEDDAH: A new Bab Rizq Jameel (BRJ) branch has been opened in Istanbul. Mohammed Abdul Latif Jameel, chief job creator at BRJ, inaugurated the new branch in the presence of senior businessmen.
Abdul Latif Jameel Group (ALJ) opened the BRJ branch in Istanbul in line with its policy to launch social responsibility initiatives in countries where the organization operates.
After cutting the opening ribbon, Jameel toured the new branch before BRJ announced that it is planning to create 5,000 job opportunities during 2011.
Last year, ALJ acquired Toyota Turkey.
Operations of the branch started last month in the areas of training ending with employment and direct employment.
Meanwhile, BRJ is in the middle of negotiations with a local bank to finance its microfinance program.
Jameel was pleased with the opening of the new branch in Istanbul. He extended thanks and appreciation to the authorities in Turkey for supporting this initiative.
Recently, ALJ Community Initiatives celebrated the end of the 1001 Inventions exhibition in Istanbul, which was visited by more than 400,000 visitors during its two-month run.
