Abu Dhabi Up to 74,790 households were visited across the emirate of Abu Dhabi within nine days of starting the census, a statement issued by Abu Dhabi statistics department showed.

“Six thousand enumerators, controllers and administrators have delivered envelopes containing census questions, spaces to answer and how to complete the questionnaire, to the doors of residential units such as villas, apartments, hotels, hospitals, students’ dorms at universities and other institutions of higher learning,” the statement revealed.

Transparency

Scad’s (Statistics Centre Abu Dhabi) focus was on transparency. Enumerators were drilled on how to use the Abu Dhabi Census 2011 software applications on iPads to save and store them in a central database. Scad provided the census questionnaire in electronic and paper formats in Arabic, English, Urdu, Tagalog, Malayalam, Pashto, Bengali and Chinese.

Processing ensures the data is as accurate as possible. Many statistical techniques are used to identify errors, account for missing or inconsistent information, and categorise qualitative responses to produce data sets that users can trust.
