Saturday, Feb 04, 2012

BEIRUT (Zawya Dow Jones)--State-giant Saudi Arabian Oil Co., or Aramco, has completed a project to produce clean transportation fuels in three of its local refineries, Abha-based Al Watan daily reports Saturday, citing an executive.

The project enables the refineries to produce ultra-low-sulfur gasoline and diesel fuel by limiting the sulfur content to 10 parts per million, or ppm, the paper reports, citing an unnamed executive in the company, which is better known as Saudi Aramco .

These refineries include the $14 billion Saudi Aramco Total Refining and Petrochemical Co., or Satorp, which is expected to be operational in December 2013, the daily reports.

The other refineries benefiting from the project are the Jizan refinery and the Yanbu Aramco Sinopec Refining joint venture, or Yasref, it adds.
