Saudi Shura To Re-Vote On Proposal For Yearly Report From Aramco-Report

Saturday, Jan 28, 2012

BEIRUT (Zawya Dow Jones)--The Shura Council, the advisory body to the Saudi king, will look Monday into a request by 16 of its members to re-vote a previous proposal requiring Saudi Arabian Oil Co. to submit an annual report to the council, Saudi-based Al Riyadh daily reports Saturday.

Saudi Arabian Oil Co., better known as Saudi Aramco , is the world's largest state-owned oil company

Saudi Aramco is fully-owned by the Saudi state and doesn't have a general assembly to monitor its activities and supervise its performance, Fahad Al Hamad, assistant to the Shura Council's chairman, said according to the paper.

The council is supposed to be aware of Aramco's performance, the daily says quoting Hamad who was behind the proposal requiring the company to submit the annual report.
