DUBAI (Zawya Dow Jones)--Saudi Arabian Oil Co., better known as Saudi Aramco, and Dow Chemical Co. have awarded the first major contracts on their $18 billion petrochemical joint venture at Jubail to U.S. and South Koran firms, Middle East Economic Digest reported late Monday.

Fluor Corp. won the engineering, procurement, construction and management contract for the utilities and offsites at the petrochemical complex, while Daelim Industrial secured the engineering, procurement and construction deal to build a mixed-feedstock cracker, MEED reported.
