KUWAIT KNPC SET TO TENDER PROJ IN MINA ABDULLAH REFINERY

State-run Kuwait National Petroleum Co., or KNPC , is preparing to launch tenders for maintenance of its Mina Abdullah refinery, without fully shutting it down, thus saving millions of dollars. The project, named the General Refinery Turn Around, or GRTA, avoidance project, is expected to be completed in 2014.

QATAR TO LAUNCH FIRST TENDERS FOR QAR130B RAIL PROJECT IN FEW MONTHS

Qatar plans to launch, later this year, the first tenders for a local mega project to set up a rail network that includes a metro. The 100-station project is expected to cost 130 billion Qatari riyals ($35.7 billion) and require more than 1.2 million tons of steel.
