New Dubai Airport To Open For Private, Corporate Jets In '12 -Report
Wednesday, Jun 08, 2011
DUBAI (Zawya Dow Jones)-- Dubai World Central-Al Maktoum International , the new airport under construction in the emirate, will open its passenger terminal for private and corporate jets in 2012, English-language daily Gulf News reports Wednesday.
The giant airport will now open for business with private and corporate jets next year rather than for full-service carriers, the paper cites Paul Griffiths, chief executive officer of Dubai Airports , which operates Dubai World Central and the existing Dubai International airport , as saying.
Griffiths said there was no "exact timeline" for the opening period of the airport's passenger terminal at the moment but that a final decision about the date would be taken by October this year. Opening of the Dubai World Central passenger terminal was still on track for 2012, he added, Gulf News reports.
