Work On Kuwait, Indonesia $9B Refinery Proj To Start Next Yr-Report

BEIRUT (Zawya Dow Jones)--Work on the planned Kuwaiti Indonesian refinery project in Indonesia's West Java Island, to cost between $8-9 billion, is expected to begin next year, Kuwait-based An Nahar daily reports Tuesday citing an executive.

The refinery will have a production capacity of 300,000 barrels a day, the paper reports citing Hussein Ismail, chairman and managing director of state-owned Kuwait Petroleum International , or KPI .

Kuwait Petroleum Corp.-- KPI 's parent company-- and Indonesia's state-run energy company Pertamina signed a memorandum of understanding regarding this project last year, the daily reports.
