UAE-based total facilities management company Farnek has announced today that it has been accredited by BICSc The British Institute of Cleaning Science.

The process to attain accreditation, started six months ago, when four of Farnek's project managers, received intensive training from BICSc. Then subsequently, over a two-day assessment, the same team demonstrated both in theory and practically their understanding of the quality standards required and their technical ability to carry them out.

This core team are now official BICSc Assessors and can train and assess all of the cleaning staff at Farnek and certify them together with BICSc.

"The overall objective of BICS is to provide a safe and clean environment, promote sustainability, to preserve assets and further improve staff retention. It is important for Farnek to ensure through third party certification that our management systems and service procedures are always up to date, ensuring our customers receive the highest quality of cleanliness according to international standards," said Markus Oberlin, CEO at Farnek.

"Farnek has successfully built its reputation through the quality of the service it provides. The BICSc' accreditation is now independent testimony to the quality of our cleaning services and assures our customers that we are operating to industry best practice.

"Similar to many other industry sectors, the FM industry is becoming exceptionally competitive and certification from BICSc maintains Farnek's position as a market leading and sustainable service provider," said Oberlin.

The British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) is the largest independent, professional and educational body within the cleaning industry with over 5,000 individual and corporate members in the UK and internationally. As a scientific and educational institution it is recognised for providing one of the most advanced, comprehensive and stringent set of standards within the cleaning industry.
