US Consul General Rob Waller visits AUD
Dubai, May 20, 2013. The American University in Dubai hosted US Consul General in the UAE Mr. Rob Waller on a visit to the university today. Accompanied by his Public Affairs Officer Mr. Daniel Aragon, the Consul General met with senior officials from AUD including President Dr. Lance De Masi, Provost/Chief Academic Officer Dr. Jihad Nader, and Director of External Relations Ms. Peggy Awad.
President de Masi comments, "The American University in Dubai is honored by Consul General Waller's visit. Through the years, the university's on-going dialog and collaboration with the Consulate has proven to enhance accomplishment of its educational mission."
Consul General Waller had this to say about his visit to the university, "It was a great meeting and it was a great opportunity to learn more about the university, and about the plans for the future. We're very pleased with the relationship and the excellent cooperation that the US Consulate General in the UAE enjoys with AUD."
Through its External Relations Office, AUD fosters intercultural understanding among its students and prepares them for the global community. Strengthening relations with the US Consulate General in the UAE fulfills the mission to build and sustain enduring connections between the university and its community. "Whether it be the facilitation of AUD study tours in the U.S. or consular participation in AUD's cultural or academic activities, a platform for student exposure to things American has always resulted from contact with the Consulate," explains President de Masi.
Consul General Waller also had the chance to meet AUD's Clinton Scholars, a group of young Americans on a study abroad program at the university. "It's been a real pleasure to see the energy and the creativity that the students are bringing to their studies and to see that they are pursuing the type of global education that students need today to succeed in an increasingly global world."
Ms. Awad accompanied the Consul General on a tour of the campus, during which he visited the different facilities and schools, including the Mohammed Bin Rashid School for Communication of AUD.

The Bachelor of Science in Computer and Information Technology (B.S.C.I.T.) program is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET.
