Manama: The Arab Forum for Environment and Development (AFED) will cooperate with universities in Bahrain to compile a report on environmental study programs in Arab universities and research centers. This was discussed at a meeting in Manama between AFED's Secretary General Najib Saab and Dr. Riyad Hamzah, Secretary General of the Bahraini Council for Higher Education.

The planned AFED report will survey research and environment education programs and initiatives across the Arab region, to help enhance cooperation and synergy. Four partner centers will be assigned to cover different sub-regions, to secure collection of accurate data.

Saab presented to Hamzah AFED's recent report on Ecological Footprint in Arab Countries, which was discussed last week at an academic seminar hosted by the Arabian Gulf University in Manama.
