Roads & Transport Authority: H.E. Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), decorated the winners of the 2nd Knowledge Cup contest which was organized by RTA Human Resources & Development Department where 8 teams representing RTA sectors and agencies took part. The final contest ended with the Team of the Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector (CASSS) beating the Team of the Licensing Agency 10 to 6 in the attendance of huge fans from RTA employees.
The Contest is part of the activities held by the RTA in the context of its cultural and entertainment programs for employees with the aim of boosting their knowledge and establishing effective inter-employee links within the work environment.
Al Tayer honoured the winning Team of CASSS and presented to them the winning trophy, and also decorated the runner-up team of the Licensing Agency.
Al Tayer was excited with this contest which moved employees out of the work environment and offered them a platform to showcase their cultural talents in various geographical, historical, heritage and scientific disciplines. "The RTA is keen to promote employees' knowledge and skills through launching a host of initiatives pertinent to this important aspect; which plays a crucial role in uplifting the performance, improving the business procedures and broadening the knowledge base of all staffs," added Al Tayer.
Kawther Kazim, Director of Human Resources & Development, RTA Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector, said: "Through staging the Knowledge Cup contests, we seek to acquaint employees with services, solutions and products provided by various RTA agencies to various spectrums of the community. Our ultimate objective is to impart in them relevant knowledge in a funny and competitive environment far from the daily business routines.
"Contest saw considerable numbers of RTA employees in attendance to the extent of thronging Al Wasl Auditorium as many of them opted to follow-up contests through the final results due to the lack of vacant seats in some contests; which manifests the good response generated by these contests among employees as they are creative and thrilling, particularly as it is the first time to hold such contests at RTA level. We were keen on offering prizes to motivate employees to take part, including cash prizes in case of replying questions of the floor. This step played an effective role in attracting huge turnout of RTA employees who were keen to attend these contests till the finals; which saw an ever rising number of attendants.
