Muscat | April 6, 2013: Al Khan Foods (AKF) - the Oman based distributor of the world's leading Sadia brand of chilled and frozen food, was pleased to announce its support to Chef Oman 2013 in the event's well attended press launch held in Oman Tourism College last March 25, 2013. This initiative reinforces AKF's dedication towards achieving a healthier future by sponsoring food and fitness consciousness cause.
Chef Oman is an annual event organized by Oman Tourism College Labor Union to promote and celebrate Oman's culture, tradition and heritage through Omani cuisine.
Commenting on the support of Oman Chef 2013 by AKF, Viresh Kothari, Managing Director of AKF, commented, "What we hope to achieve in promoting food and health responsiveness is to be an inspiration; create positive changes, hearten Omani chefs to be the best in the world and make Omani families happier and healthier through enjoyable meal time experience. The event also aims to prepare Omani Chefs at an excellent level in Omani cooking to be able to market for Omani cuisine in a modern and sophisticated line responding to the needs of the new generation of this era.
The month long event will begin on April 2 at Oman Tourism College. The competition will have live weekly cookery competition from various contestants from hotel industry, educated practitioners, foodies, cooking enthusiast and restaurant chefs. This will be open to public as live feed will be available in the venue's ball room. Spectators who cannot make it to the venue may also enjoy watching at home through the local channel - Majan TV.
Sadia products will be featured as the competition "start ingredient" in all stages, inspiring Omani chefs to create and develop cultural, modern and healthy dishes.
