Dubai, UAE, 4 April 2013: The 3rd SmarTech, the exhibition dedicated to showcasing energy-efficient products, green building tools and solutions and related-technologies, will be held alongside the 15th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) 2013, which is organised under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai and under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of DEWA.
The 3rd SmarTech will be held on 15-17 April in halls 1-6 and Zabeel Hall of the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The event, which is being held under the theme 'Think Green. Live Green', is dedicated to encouraging responsible and sustainable use of energy for enterprises and consumers, and raising their contribution in green solutions to enhance global competitiveness in the field of sustainable development.
"Water and energy conservation is the responsibility of all individuals. However, it is important to provide them with the green materials, concepts, services and solutions designed to help them to contribute to save natural resources," said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy and Managing Director and CEO of DEWA.
"SmarTech provides a significant opportunity to highlight green technologies and solutions and share and discuss issues of interest to electricity and water consumers. It helps visitors understand how simple it is to deploy conservation solutions and use proven best practices. This is where SmarTech, which is the first of its kind in the region, fits in."
"Through SmarTech, WETEX has proved that is a show that targets end-users as much as the organisations and institutions using it as an ideal platform to boost their businesses and operations."
"SmarTech has become a strategic part of DEWA's overall commitment to the environment and increasing awareness about the importance of adopting conservation practices and highlights the consumer's role in the overall energy and water conservation process," said Al Tayer.
Al Tayer added that DEWA has impressively succeeded in reducing energy consumption in cooperation with the public and private sectors as well as the community in Dubai and SmarTech is a natural continuation of this achievement.
One of the forum's key goals is to promote environmentally-friendly strategies in the region, raise awareness of the importance of conserving the environment and promote the concept of sustainable development to preserve natural resources and reduce energy losses.
This year's SmarTech will showcase the latest products and technologies related to energy and water efficiency, and green technologies as well as customised solutions for residential buildings and companies. It is an international platform that attracts a wide range of brands, manufacturers and distributors to promote their go-green products, concepts, services and eco-friendly solutions.
The three-day WETEX exhibition also includes a range of education seminars, lectures and workshops, where participants will discuss the latest developments in technology, innovation and research related to electricity and water efficiency.
