First Batch of Khalifa Fund, SENAAT, and Emirates Steel Employees graduated from the Institute of Leadership Management
Abu Dhabi, Saturday February 2nd , 2013: In celebration of the first batch graduating from the Institute of Leadership Management Program, Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, SENAAT and Emirates Steel are organizing a joint award ceremony to commemorate the achievement of their employees who completed the program which was conducted in association with bizability, a British specialized institute in human development.
At the Graduation Ceremony which was attended by the Senior Management of all participating entities, H.E Hussain Jasim Al Nowais, Chairman Khalifa Fund and SENAAT said that investing in human capital is a key asset that our leadership encourages us to continuously develop and ensure the empowerment and qualification of UAE Nationals who are being prepared to continue the sustainable development of the UAE.
H.E Al Nowais acknowledged the efforts set by Khalifa Fund, SENAAT, and Emirates Steel in the development of their employees to qualify them to take leading positions in the companies they work for. He said: "The creation of qualified UAE generation in various fields is a national goal that we thrive to achieve. Training and development in various sectors is a priority for us to promote and benefit from the Nation human capital."
Al Nowais has also addressed the 16 graduates saying: "You are our promising young leaders who will carry out the responsibility and privilege of building our Nation. We are looking forward to seeing your distinguished and successful contribution."
Mahmood Al Hameli, Senior Vice President, Business Support at SENAAT said that the Institute of Leadership Management Program was customized to benefit 16 Emiratis from Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development,SENAAT and Emirates Steel. The one year program was divided into two phases, the first phase focused on developing the skills of participants in management, team building, strategic planning and problem-solving, decision-making and management and other management skills necessary for the candidate who are being prepared to take leadership roles within their respective entities.
Al Hamli said that the program also focused on the development of leadership skills and exposed participants to the characters of a successful manager through practical programme that transparently reflects the leadership quality in the candidates.
Members who passed the program successfully receives an international certificate in leadership management issued by the Institute of Leadership Management (ILM) which is based in London.
H.E Abdullah Saeed Al-Darmaki, CEO of Khalifa Fund said that Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development managed to Emiratise about 59% of its leadership positions confirming that the Fund will continue to invest in the development its employees with the aim to enhance their skills and promote them to manage the remaining administrative positions in the near in the future.
Eng.. Mubarak Suhail Al-Ameri, CEO at SENAAT said that SENAAT has strongly progressed in the Emiratisation process having all its leadership positions occupied by UAE Nationals. Eng Al Ameri also emphasized on the fact that the Group is currently following a policy to increase the recruitment of Emiratis in SENAAT and its subsidiaries.
On same subject, Eng. Saeed Ghumran Al Romaithi, CEO Emirates Steel said that the company has implemented many programs that aimed at employing Nationals in various job levels . He also said that Emirates Steel has gone beyond the leadership positions where 60% of these positions are occupied by UAE Nationals . Emirates Steel has plans to Emiratise the technical positions which was limited to Foreign professionals and labour. The Emiratisation progress at Emirates Steel has reached 24% in 2012.
