Tadawi Healthcare Company announces Appointment of Chairman and CEO
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, March 6, 2012: Tadawi Healthcare Company , one of the largest pharmacy retail and wholesale businesses in the Kingdom, today announced the restructuring of its existing Board with the appointment of Ahmed Al Sanie as Chairman and Raid Ismail as CEO. A newly formed Executive Committee team, led by Mr. Al Sanie, will assist Mr. Ismail in facilitating the company's restructuring initiatives and accelerating its growth plans.
Mr. Al Sanie, a Saudi national, is a veteran business leader bringing to bear nearly two decades of experience in financial services, strategic planning and international business development gained within the region and overseas. As Chairman and Executive Director of the Board of the Tadawi Healthcare Company , Mr. Al Sanie's principal responsibility will lie in overseeing the growth and expansion of the company.
Mr. Al Sanie said, "I am delighted to be joining Tadawi Healthcare Company with its successful track record as one of the leading integrated pharmaceutical providers in the Kingdom. Company background
Tadawi Company ("Tadawi") was established in April 2005 as a result of a merger between Atlas Pharmacies (retail operation) and Dar Marwa (wholesale operation). As of 2006, Tadawi operated 91 pharmacies across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ("KSA") and served over 1500 wholesale clients with nationwide distribution capability.
Business
Tadawi has an integrated retail, wholesale, and agency operations.
The retail pharmacy business unit has two elements: 1) operation of its own stores; and 2) management of pharmacies in polyclinics and hospitals for other licensed owners. The managed pharmacy business model was pioneered by Tadawi and it is currently the leading provider of this outsourcing service with 13 pharmacies under it portfolio.
Tadawi acquired PharmaTech (an agency business) in 2006 and has exclusive distribution rights for a number of products including pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, medical equipment and supplies. With this acquisition, Tadawi became one of the few integrated providers of pharmaceuticals across the retail, wholesale, and agency supply chain.
