Emirates NBD & UNESCO celebrate the first graduation of the Amjaad Initiative
Dubai - 22nd Feb 2012: Emirates NBD and UNESCO, celebrated recently the first graduation of the Amjaad Initiative in Fujairah, UAE.
Emirates NBD Human Resources Nationalization Unit / Learning & Development (L&D) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on June 12, 2011, with the National Commission for UNESCO, UAE/Associated Schools. In an effort to fulfill its corporate social responsibility, and with the support of the Nationalization Unit, Emirates NBD introduced this programme, tailored specifically for UAE high school students in remote areas of the country so they can become valuable members of their society and compete successfully from the get-go.
Participating students attended the course on Saturdays over a period of six weeks, from 8:00am-2:00pm. The first day covered Emirates NBD overview induction, and an online English assessment with the Global English course. Each student was provided with an account user name and password to improve their communication skills in Business English, lasting up to six months. Subsequent courses included Work Ethics, Job Interview Skills, Effective E-mail Writing, and Presentation Skills.
participation. The top three performing students were given special recognition for their efforts along with an additional gift for their achievements and hard work.
We look forward to the continued success of this initiative, where nationals from all across the UAE will benefit from the Emirates NBD public outreach initiative and wish all our young UAE nationals continued success.
