Sulaiman Al-Habib Group to pump over SR2bn into health care projects
RIYADH: Dr. Sulaiman Al-Habib Medical Group is investing more than SR2 billion to set up two private medical cities, according to the group's executive chairman.
Naser bin Mohammad Al-Haqbani said part of the shares will be given to investors as a private placement.
The first medical city, with 500 beds and costing SR1.5 billion, will be in north Riyadh in the neighborhood of Qurtoba. The second, with 410 beds and costing SR800 million, will be in Alkhobar in the Eastern Province.
Al-Haqbani explained the group in the last four years developed more than 1 million sq. meters of office space in the Kingdom and the Gulf, designing and finishing 14 enterprises and running 11 of them.
The group's hospitals in Al-Qassim and Rayyan were also accredited by the JCI international committee for accrediting enterprises, and its Dubai laboratory received an ISO certificate.
Al-Haqbani confirmed the group's staff enrichment program through training accredited by the American Academy for Continuous Medical Education.
He said 7,000 employees in the group received training in all specializations, while its center of cardiopulmonary resuscitation is one of the accredited centers in the Saudi Heart Association.
Al-Haqbani highlighted the group's policy of setting up new micro-specialist medical centers such as a center for infertility treatment, hospital for orthopedic surgery and a maternity hospital.
Al-Haqbani said: "The Dr. Sulaiman Al-Habib Group seeks to make its mark in the health care sector according to the standards set by international health organizations and authorities such as the JCI and the American Institute of Architects."
