Three firms to list on Qatar Exchange this year, QFMA CEO says

At least three companies will list on Qatar Exchange this year, taking the number of firms traded on the stock exchange to 45, Nasser Al Shaibi, chief executive of the Qatar Financial Markets Authority , told Zawya.

Al Shaibi did not mention the names of the companies that are likely to list, but sources said they are Barwa Bank , Al Jazeera Finance and Maken Holdings.

Barwa Bank , a subsidiary of Barwa Real Estate Company, has a paid-up capital of USD 824.1 billion and posted a net profit of QAR 164 million for the first nine months of 2011.

Maken Holdings has total assets of USD 1.37 billion, and operates in the manufacturing, construction, health, education, transport and communications sectors.

Al Jazeera Finance has a paid-in capital of USD 164.8 million and announced a net profit of QAR 53.2 million for 2010.
