Omantel appoints Huda Al Habsi as GM marketing
MUSCAT: Omantel has appointment of Huda Abdullah Al Habsi as its first Omani woman holding the position of general manager of marketing at Omantel , heading a team that is responsible for the development of end-to-end corporate telecom solutions as well as market research and pricing.Al Habsi brings over 16 years of experience in the telecom sector to the role and had started her career with Omantel IT Department as an IT Engineer. The last position she held before her recent appointment was senior manager Product Development at Omantel Corporate Business Unit.
In her new role at Omantel , Huda will be responsible for the development and implementation of the marketing strategies, especially in relation to Omantel 's vision and mission and Omantel 's Technology roadmap. Huda's role will be focused on the company's fastest growing business sectors as the corporate business unit continues to expand and play a vital role in delivering the most advanced technology and telecommunications solutions to the private and public sector.
Announcing the appointment, Todd Dick, vice president of Omantel Corporate Business Unit said: "Huda has been an asset to our Unit and to the company and we are glad to see her progressing in her career. We are confident that Huda will bring incisive management and leadership to this important function and help us to grow and maintain our leadership position in the corporate business sector". Commenting on her new role, Huda Al Habsi said: "I'm delighted to be the first Omani woman to be appointed in such senior management role and looking forward to the challenges and responsibilities in this new role. Omantel is a very dynamic and forward looking company and I'm glad that I spent my whole career with Omantel witnessing the great changes that the Company has undergone over the last two decades.
