Zidan: Arab and European Sanctions against Syria Have No Affect on Agricultural Cooperative Bank

DAMASCUS, (SANA) - General Manager of the Agricultural Cooperative Bank Ibrahim Zidan said hat the Bank wasn't affected by the Arab or European sanctions imposed on Syria.

In a statement to SANA, Zidan added that the bank is local and it doesn't deal in foreign currency. The bank aims at funding farmers with agricultural production requirements and agricultural development loans.

He said the bank contributes to supporting rural and agricultural development, in addition to funding industrial facilities, agricultural marketing and rural handicrafts.

Zidan added that the bank has recently adjusted the interest rates on saving deposit accounts with the aim of supporting the banking sector liquidity, encouraging saving process and increasing the citizens' confidence in the Syrian Pound, in addition to creating a strobe base for funding development and investment projects.
