The Wave, Muscat says100pc occupancy at its retail precinct

MUSCAT -- The Wave, Muscat announced that within nine months of the opening of Almeria North Arcade, the retail precinct at Al Marsa Village has achieved 100 per cent occupancy.

The 1,500 sqm retail area which is currently home to Costa Coffee, WH Smith, Kwik Kleen, Shang Thai, Al Fair and the recently open Pizza Express is expecting its seventh and final tenant to start operations by summer of 2012.

Envisioned to become the epicenter of social gatherings, the precinct provides residents and tenants with everyday shopping needs and contemporary food and beverage outlets. "We have successfully attracted the biggest brands to Almeria North Arcade which is a reflection of retailers' confidence in the project's reach with both families living at The Wave, Muscat and the larger Seeb community.

The area is meant to enhance the already established residential development by introducing a diverse range of first-class facilities that caters to varied tastes and preferences," said Abdulla bin Khamis al Shidi, Deputy CEO, The Wave, Muscat.

Looking forward Al Shidi explained that expansion plans remain firmly on track for the construction of The Wave retail precinct, a new 10,500 sqm retail and commercial hub.

This will be anchored by the flagship boutique food store, Waitrose and has generated great interest from the market for quality retail and commercial space.
