QF hosts First Lady of the Republic of Ghana, Dr. Ernestina Naadu Mills today

· First Lady of the Republic of Ghana chief supporter of basic education rights for all children worldwide
A welcoming committee, led by Mr. Rashed S. Al-Qurese Al-Marri, Projects Account Manager at QF, and Mr. Eid A. Aziz Al Sayed, Head of Protocol and Visitor Relations at QF, received Dr. Mills and her delegation at the QF Visitors Center. They observed a presentation outlining the vision and mission of QF, before viewing a 3D scale model of the QF campus, including future construction projects.
Dr. Mills is a passionate social worker and advocate for improved education in Ghana, where the schooling system faces serious challenges. According to a United Nations Development Programme report, published in 2011, one third of the population is unable to read and write.
Yet, despite such wide-ranging experience in the field of education, Dr. Mills was clearly impressed by what she saw at QF, stating, "After coming to see what Qatar Foundation has been involved in and the numerous projects it looks to begin, it is clear that it is a force to be reckoned with internationally."
Dr. Mills is visiting Doha this week, along with several other First Ladies, to attend the 5th International Shafallah Forum, hosted by the Shafallah Center for Children with Special Needs.
