WETEX 2012 records rising numbers of sponsors and participants

The Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) has recorded considerable international success, having witnessed a steady increase in the number of sponsors and participants from countries around the world, who have confirmed their attendance at the 2012 three-day event. Taking place on 13--15th of March, 2012, the three-day exhibition takes place at Za'abeel Hall and Halls 1, 2, 3 and 4 in the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. Organized by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority ( DEWA ) under the aegis of The Supreme Council of Energy, this unique exhibition is held annually under the guidance of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Finance Minister of the UAE and Chairman of DEWA .

"This three-day exhibition will see the attendance of prominent international professionals from various sectors of electricity, water, gas, petrol and the environment, and experts and specialists with scientific and technical backgrounds to interact and exchange views with government agencies and decision-makers. They will update them about the latest developments, solutions and best practices in the fields of energy, water and the environment to meet the challenges of this sector as a whole," said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of The SCE and MD & CEO of DEWA .

"Since its commencement 14 years ago, WETEX has displayed a significant increase in size. The exhibition took up to 23,000 sqm. in 2011. This year, it will encompass 33,000 sqm. in total, an increase of 10,000 sqm. since last year."

His Excellency anticipates the attendance of nearly 12,000 visitors to the exhibition this year with about 1,000 national and international companies and institutions participating. Confirmations have been received by 24 leading industrial companies that they will be Strategic Gold and Platinum sponsors. Such companies include BP, ENOC, Shell, Siemens, ETA, Mitsubishi, DUBAL and DUCAB among other notable organizations.

This high-profile regional exhibition provides effective networking opportunities for businesses and consumers alike and presents techniques and technologies in the fields of electricity, water, energy and the environment. This year, the exhibition has introduced a new section targeting fossil fuels and other aspects of oil, gas and clean coal in addition to the specialized Smartech and Green Building Initiatives segment. All of these new sections will attract decision makers from these different fields. The exhibition also includes seminars about electricity, water and energy. It provides companies and visitors with the opportunity to interact with each other. The exhibition will constitute a platform for sponsors and exhibitors to launch environmentally-friendly products and services while assessing their potential in the Middle East, raise their profiles and promote their products.
