Event sizes will grow even further in 2012, according to Dusit Thani Dubai

Event capacity grew significantly during 2011, a trend which Dusit Thani Dubai suggests will continue to grow throughout 2012. The Thai hotel, situated within 5-10 minutes to Dubai International Financial Centre and Dubai's International Exhibition and Convention Centre, experienced event organisers requiring a larger capacity for business and social functions last year.

Overall 2011 saw event covers increase significantly across all sector groups for Dusit Thani Dubai . One of the largest growths was seen with Government organised events held at the hotel, which grew by almost 40 per cent. As well as the size of events, Dusit Thani Dubai also saw the number events increase last year compared to 2010. Corporate and government seminars and receptions increased 70 per cent and dinner functions increased by more than 75 per cent.

These figures comes as the 5^th Middle East Meetings Industry Research report named Dubai and Abu Dhabi as the top MENA Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) destinations. The report also highlighted the rapid growth the UAE has seen in this sector which is predicted to grow further this year.

Donna Atanacio, newly appointed MICE Sales Manager at Dusit Thani Dubai , suggests that 2012 is going to be an even more significant year for the sector within the hotel. "As research, and our own records, show, Dubai is a key MICE destination in the global market, with forecasts for 2012 anticipating Dubai attracting a large percentage of business in the region. More specially, Incentive Travel is one of which will certainly continue to see a significant grow and we are further developing our offerings to accommodate these needs.

"My primary responsibility this year is to harness this growth and attract more conferences and meetings for Dusit Thani Dubai and I certainly believe we have the facilities and location to be able to do this," she added.
